We take our commitment to quality very seriously by strictly screening milk at the production and procurement levels itself for detection of adulterants, hormones, antibiotics and neutralizers. In fact the pursuit of delivering ‘international quality’ is what drives us forward.
The eight-step Cold Chain Process is universally proven for its ability to deliver milk products of the highest quality to consumers. At Muralya Dairy, we use cutting-edge international technology at all the mechanised stages of the Cold Chain Process.
STEP 1 - THE COW
Care is taken to ensure that our cows are fed a proper diet, given the necessary medical care and housed in a healthy environment.
STEP 2 - BULK MILK CHILLER
The milk is then stored at the farm in Bulk Milk Chillers at a constant temperature of +4°C before being dispatched to Muralya’s fully automated dairy plant.
STEP 3 - INSULATED ROAD MILK TANKERS
The Reefer Container fleet of Muralya Dairy is fitted with cooling units to enable the transportation of milk at a constant optimum temperature.
STEP 4 - PROCESSING PLANT SILOS
At the factory milk is stored at +4°C before processing commences.
STEP 5 - PROCESSING PROCEDURE
The milk is then subjected to homogenization, which is a mechanical process where the milk fat is evenly distributed throughout the milk. Homogenization gives milk a creamy taste and stops the fat from collecting along the top and sides of the bottle as cream.
STEP 6 - REFRIGERATED TRUCKS
The distribution fleet of Muralya Dairy is fitted with cooling units that enable the distribution of milk from the dairy to the sales depots and in turn to the retailers at the optimum temperature.
STEP 7 - SALE DEPOTS
The packaged milk is sent to our Sales Depots where they are stored for retail distribution with the utmost efficiency so that our products reach retailers in the shortest possible time.
STEP 8 - RETAILERS
Our personnel regularly monitor retailers to ensure that they conform to the requirements of the cold chain by checking and inspecting the temperatures of the cold storage units used to display products to consumers.
